Board Nominations & Bylaws Amendments

Official Announcement of Board Nominations 
 
Seattle, WA - April 5, 2013 - In compliance with our bylaws this message services as 30-day notice of members nominated to serve on the Board of Directors of NAIFA Seattle/Eastside for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2013.  Official elections will take place at the Annual Meeting to be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 7:30am to 11:30am at the Glendale Country Club in Bellevue. Incumbents and those who previously served in another position are indicated with an asterisk (*).  In addition to the nominees below, board members Coty Kilpatrick and Jon Stotesbery will be continuing on  the board as they have terms not expiring this year.

Official Announcement of Proposed Amended Bylaws
 
Seattle, WA - April 5, 2013 - In compliance with our bylaws this message services as advanced notice of bylaws amendments being submitted to the general membership by the Board of Directors for approval.  The membership will be asked to approve these amendments at the Annual Meeting noted above.  Below are a few highlights of proposed changes to the bylaws:
  • Simplification of the official name of the association
  • Codifying the organization's mission adopted by the board in 2009
  • Extending term limits for executive officers to be two consecutive 1-year terms
  • Other changes to update and modernize the bylaws in accordance with current practices
