Our speaker this month is Symetra's own, Karen Susac. She serves as Director of Advanced Markets with Symetra Financial in downtown Bellevue where she consults with producers and advisors regarding the use of life and annuity products and other financial instruments in complex and sophisticated estate, business and executive benefit planning strategies.  At February's breakfast Karen will be providing "need to know" information in the areas of:
  • Retirement Planning issues
  • Life Settlements
  • Rollovers, Conversions, and exchanges
  • Executive Compensation, COLI
  • Suitability and Compliance
 
About The Speaker - Karen Susac, JD, CEBS, CLU, ChFC, CSSC, FLMI, FFSI
Ms. Susac received her AB degree in Philosophy from the University of Illinois and a JD degree from the John Marshall Law School. She is a member of the Illinois and Oregon Bar Associations.  She has the CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) and ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant) designations from the American College of Life Underwriters at Bryn Mawr. She maintains PACE status. She holds the CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) designation from the International Society of Employee Benefits and the CSSC (Certified Structured Settlement Consultant) designation. She has also completed both the Fellow Life Management Institute (FLMI) and the Fellow Financial Services Institute programs (FFSI) from LOMA. Karen has taught courses in employee benefits, human resource management, and contemporary benefit issues for the University of Washington.  Ms. Susac is an active member of the Society of Financial Professionals. She currently serves as the professional development chair for the Seattle Chapter.
